Undoing, Undone
She went out to look for him that night when he didn't come home. She
had her doubts and her suspicions. She had started dinner and set the table
and lit a fire and poured a glass of wine. She was expecting Jack to come in
the door any minute, and his dog was pacing too. It didn't occur to her to
imagine the worst. She only hoped he'd somehow been innocently waylaid.
Or maybe something simple had gone wrong. A flat tire, say. She hoped he
